Commuter Air Technology (CAT), headquartered in Oklahoma City, introduced its Maximum Endurance (ME) upgrades for the King Air B300 aircraft during the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) convention in Las Vegas. These upgrades, introduced to the market as CAT 350ME, increase the operational gross weight and fuel capacity, providing carrying capacity and endurance beyond anyone else in the market.
Oklahoma’s Governor Mary Fallin, who was among the distinguished speakers at the convention, commented on the company’s announcement, “Commuter Air Technology is a perfect example of an Oklahoma company raising the bar in the aviation sector,” said Governor Mary Fallin. “We are proud of CAT’s dedication to developing cutting edge technology from their home in Oklahoma City.”
Commuter Air Technology is part of Acorn Growth Companies’ portfolio of companies, a private equity firm that invests exclusively in aerospace and defense. The firm is also headquartered in Oklahoma City and has strong ties to the state with a large percentage of its investor pool comprised of business leaders from across the region. “Commuter Air Technology was Acorn’s first acquisition back in 2005. The company was founded with the vision of making the King Air family of aircraft even more versatile than their intended general aviation purpose. Spanning the last four decades, CAT has continued to innovate and deliver aircraft and services that meet today's demanding requirements. From the CATPASS 250 to today's unveiling of the King Air ME, CAT remains at the forefront of investing in, maintaining and developing new ways to make the most prolific business aviation asset, the King Air, viable for decades to come”, said Rick Nagel, Managing Partner of Acorn Growth Companies.
Commuter Air Technology was recently named one of the fastest-growing private companies in Oklahoma City by the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce, and has been a recipient of this recognition five times. Although the company has evolved and is now one of the global leaders in C4-ISR aircraft integration and field services, it has stayed close to its heritage and founding doctrines.
“We pride ourselves in providing our customers with the latest advancements in performance enhancement for their King Air,” said Darryl Wilkerson, President, CAT. “CAT’s 350 gross weight increase and 350ME fuel tanks enable our customers to fly their King Air from coast to coast: Los Angeles to Miami, or internationally across the Atlantic, without the need to refuel. This has been unprecedented – until now.”
