Experienced Controller Joins Acorn Growth Companies
Acorn Growth Companies, a global private equity firm focused on aerospace & defense, announced that Aaron Penix, MBA, CPA has joined the firm as its controller. Penix is a 14-year industry veteran with expertise in analytical financial reporting and forensic accounting.
“Aaron is a welcome addition to the Acorn financial team and we are pleased to have him join the firm,” said Jeff Morton, CFO for Acorn. “His accounting and finance background will provide us with the support we need as we continue to experience tremendous growth of our portfolio.”
Penix will manage the company’s financial plans, accounting policies and procedures, and the fidelity of its fiscal records and financial reports. He will report directly to vice president of finance, Dale Jordan.

Penix is a long time Oklahoma resident, starting his career at Advanced Academics and earning his MBA at Oklahoma City University. He recently served in a forensic accounting role related to energy litigation for Barnes & Lewis LLP. His previous controller experience includes supporting a $600 million joint venture and IPO.
